Hi Everone, It's taken a little while, but here are some of my pictures from New Zealand (when I went earlier this month).

It's a beautiful country (expensive but!!!) I highly recommend you go if you get the chance as there is so much culture and it's so pretty!!!

View from our hotel: We we staying in the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland, which is right near the docks. We were 5mins walk from the CBD (although it's such a tiny city, I don't know if CBD is the correct term!!!)

Sky Tower: This is the cities biggest attraction, it's got the casino, resteraunts, hotels etc and 3 viewing decks. We went to all three.

Glass floor: According to the booklet I picked up, the tower is 380m above the sea!!!  :o There is a glass floor you can stand on and see the ground beneath you. Unfortunately, it's heaps scratched and you don't get as clear view like I did last time I went 8 years ago.

Road Trip: We drove to Rotorua and along the way stopped at this town called TeAwamutu. This is where the musicians Tim and Neil Finn are from, we went to the museum (next photo) and it was incredible, because there is so much memorabillia there.

Rotorua: Has many geysers/hot springs. They are hot spots on fault lines. From my understanding,  they use the same energy as earthqakes, but don't cause near the damage!! The guide told us that last year the main street of Rotorua exploded with a geyser!!! This photo is from a designated area though which cannot be built on.

Almost Home: Always love coming home (as I hate flying) This photo is from Sardine Class.

I have always heard good things about New Zealand ;)  Alot of the pictures I have seen remind me of Norway (which is also expensive).

Glad you enjoyed yourself :)

Last time I went (in 1999) there was more time for me to do stuff, so yep I've had a hangi before. There are hotels in Rotorua, but when I went in 99, I stayed at a Marae.

2. Did you go to the Hot Springs (for a swim ) at night under the stars? I did. What did you do?

Nope, but when I went in 99 I did swim in the hot springs during the day- was like a warm bath!!!

3. Did you visit any Volcanoes?

again- not this time, drove past Mt Ruapehu before though

4. Did you enjoy seeing the Geysers etc?

yep, they are amazing

5. Did you have time for a scenic flight around Rotarua?

no, we only got 3 hours in Rotorua this time, last time I spent 3 or 4 days

6. What kind of accomodation did you stay at?

hotel called The Quadrant in Auckland, it was quite swish, but we won the trip so I don't know how much it was

7. In Auckland, did you visit the underground Aquarium?

not this time, I wanted to though coz I loved it so much last time...

8. Was the weather nice?

Humid and it rained everyday. Never seen so much rain!!!

9. What was the exchange rate for $ 1 AUD? = NZ $

Crap, I exchanged $AUD500 and got $NZ510

10 Did you go crazy buying Souvenirs??

Nah, I bought some jewellery and went manic at the duty free counter in Sydney before we left

Thanks BumbleBee!!I might think of more questions later? Hey, how's this for LUCK??

I have already had two Job Interviews (I am jobhunting for better money & my current employer has no work for me!! I have been sitting at home for 8 weeks, except for 3 hours work last week! ), and BOTH of the Jobs have some work in New Zealand!!! A PAID Holiday!!!!! LOL!!  ;D  Though, my preference is for the 3rd Job Interview this Thursday! It's a Vic. Govt position, pays well, but no work in NZ!!  ::)

Note: Sorry BB, but I think when I was in NZ in 1987, $1 AUD = $ 1.20 NZ   (ie.  Extra 20% ) roughly!!

NewsFlash:I just looked up the Australian $$ for last Friday, 30th March=

    1 AUD$  =    $ NZ 1.13216 ,  That is approx.  13.216 % extra  :o

So $500 AUD =  $NZ 566.08 >:( >:(  I think you got ripped off BB?
Weird: I just received a phone call from New Zealand!! It was a Girl, she wanted Melbourne, but got me instead of the correct number!! LOL!  :P

Rex it looks as though providence may have you heading across the dutch!!! not to worry though, it's not a bad place!!! :) it's nice really, rains all the time but- we Aussies are not used to that!!!

You do get charged for exchanging cash, that day was apparently almost $1.07 or something.

LOL!! Well, I hiked for 6 days on the Milford Track in the South Isle!! It was supposed to rain ALL the time "on average!" But, it was lovelly & sunny everyday I hiked!!!! The Guides were dumbfounded!!!
DO IT, if you haven't hiked The Milford Track!!!!! Do the paid, comfortable Hike, not the free backpackers hike!!! It may be expensive, but I would do it again!!!!  It's a great experince, great food etc!!!! Highly worth it!!!!  I live in Melbourne, I'm used to rain!!  ;) ;) :P
